Pat's
"girls" -- Sasha, resting her head on Megan. Their job is mattress-testing while Pat writes.
Nigel
Bennett, Pat Elrod & Deborah Duchene (Jannette on Forever Knight)
being chummy at Dead of Winter II Convention in Feb. 1995.
Her dress is a replica of one of
Deborah's costumes from the show.
Pat had
NO idea that 7 months later Nigel would ask if she might like to write a
book with him...!
Pat
and co-writer Nigel Bennett at the AggieCon Art show.
There they found the perfect cover artist for His Father's Son.
More details on the Richard's Castle page.
Nigel, Pat, and artist Jamie Murray in
front of a panel of Jamie's art. The portrait in the
background will be familiar to readers of Siege Perilous.
Pat
in the 80's at a PBS fundraiser with one of her favorite Doctors, the
utterly charming Jon
Pertwee.
The TARDIS in the
background is the one she build herself.
During
the course of the event Pertwee was smuggled into the structure via
its back door. When the time came for his big entrance
everyone looked expectantly at the room's main doors and there was a
huge stir and an explosion of applause when he emerged from the
TARDIS instead. It was a Moment.
When Pat asked him how
her TARDIS differed from the one used by the BBC, Pertwee declared,
"Oh, my dear, yours smells much better!"
Pertwee
gleefully accepts a "Doll-ek" from Pat, who has some skill
at sewing.
He made quite an
impression on her, so much so that she "cast" him as Sebastian
Pierce in Fire in the Blood!
Pat is ready to sign on as the 7th
Doctor's new companion!
The delightful Sylvester
McCoy came to Dallas to help at a fundraiser for the local PBS
channel and Pat was there to take phone pledges. Mr. McCoy
very kindly posed for pics with all the volunteers.
Pat and her
good bud (and outstanding writer), Roxanne Conrad,(aka Rachel
Caine) in their BDU's
at a convention. "We're the SG-1-A team. When SG-1
gets into trouble we'll write them a way out!" They're somewhat
infamous for their "Major Elrod & Major
Conrad's Stargate-SG-1 Ubergeeks Panel!"

When not writing, Pat
sometimes plays dress-up--in costumes she made herself.
She-Devil with a
Pen!
Pat
in the 70's during her cheesecake phase as Red Sonja, the She-Devil with a
Sword. "I won a few costume contests in this outfit--what there
is of it! Oh, it
was SO cold taking that picture!"
More 70's fun!
Pat, as everyone's favorite kickbutt space princess.
Super
Cheesecake!
In
the 80's impersonating super-villainess Ursa from Superman 2
K-9's Company
In
the 80's impersonating one of her favorite Companions, Leela.
In this case it was Pat who built K-9, not the Doctor. She
still has him in her garage. (K-9, that is!)
Rocky Horror at an AggieCon!
Getting
into makeup to play Magenta at Rocky during a convention in
1998. The infamous big hair is gone now.
"I
never DID get the eyelashes to match, but have been assured by experts
that it was "right" for Magenta." Check out the
vampire-red pupils!

Pat's co-writer Nigel
Bennett dropped by to see the AggieCon version of the Rocky
Horror Picture Show. Somewhat nostalgic, Nigel let drop that
he played the part of Riff Raff in a live stage production of the
musical in Italy!
JINKIES!
Pat's discovered a
whole new alter- ego! She liked the style of the Velma wig so much
she trimmed her hair to a roaring 20's flapper's bob!
Cast pic of the 1995 production of the
"Forever Knight (Dinner) Theater" at Galaxy Fair. The
one-act comedy was written by P.N. Elrod in honor of Nigel Bennett's
visit to the convention.
The guy in front on
the floor is Kevin Topham who filled in for Nigel in the part of
LaCroix. Later Kevin was the cover model for Quincey
Morris, so he does have a predilection for playing
vampires. After the show he asked to hang onto the cape for
the rest of the evening. Apparently he made out like a
bandit with lady fans.
Regarding the play
itself: as soon as a copy of the script surfaces it will be put
up on the website, along with the behind the scenes
goings-on. For now, the plot hinges on what happens when
LaCroix takes over the Enterprise!

Pat in front of the
American Falls at Niagara in the background. She says she looked like a blue penguin, but
didnt carethe Falls were mind-blowing! So much so that she and Nigel
Bennett used them in a key scene in Siege Perilous!
Two
thumbs up for the Niagara Whirlpool boat tour! The nice
young lady helped Pat get aboard just in time. The trip up
the Niagara river was done in their fully canopied model,
otherwise tourists are in for a soaking in the open top boats!
About
to take off on a helicopter tour over Niagara Falls. Pat
isn't fond of heights but figured that the company was not about
to get careless with one of their million dollar machines, so she
boarded with a big grin. The flight went right over areas
mentioned in Siege Perilous!
And yes, she IS wearing her
Stargate-SG1 BDU coat and her USS Elrod hat.
A quiet moment paying her respects at Edgar Allen Poe's
monument.
Pat wanted to visit the Poe Museum
in Baltimore, but today as probably in Poe's time the house is
located in a bad neighborhood. The taxi driver was very
insistent she not even get out of the car to take a
picture. She tipped him big time at the end of the trip!
Waiting
to take the tour of Graceland, Pat & friend cutup for a
photo. Elvis music was piping through the waiting area and
Pat can resist anything but the temptation to Rock N Roll!

Christmas card, Courtesy of "P.N.Elrod Productions!"
STARGATE-SG1 FANS??

Just read
the caption from this photo clipped from the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
The U.S.S.
Elrod
A.K.A.
The Hammerin' Hank!
USS
ELROD is an Oliver Hazard Perry class guided missile frigate named for
Major Henry T. Elrod, USMC, who was awarded the Medal of Honor
posthumously for his actions in defending Wake Island during the period
Dec. 8 - 23, 1941, while XO of VMF 211. Before losing his plane in battle,
he single-handedly attacked a
formation of 22 Japanese planes, and shot down two of them, and two days
later strafed and bombed the destroyer Kisaragi, sinking her.

Ship's
Badge. The red lines show where she's been. For
more on the USS Elrod: http://navysite.de/ffg/FFG55.HTM So
far as Pat knows there is no relation, but she thinks it's really neat
to share the same name! Check out the Patch Gallery on the
website. They have Martin the Martian on one of them! Pat's
kind of people!
